Electronic health record (EHR) platforms are forging new partnerships for integrations that make the growing use of telehealth more effective for patients, physicians and payers.
Video conferencing platform Zoom has announced that it has invited health information technology provider Cerner to participate in a beta test in which physicians and clinicians can easily access a patient’s EHR during a telehealth visit, which could lead to improved outcomes.
The Zoom-Cerner integration promises features ranging from notifications to easy access to records to a secure linking system that allows more to be done and documented during telehealth sessions.
Walmart Health & Wellness executive vice president , Dr. Cheryl Pegus, said in a statement, “The Epic system complements our omnichannel health offering, enabling customers and healthcare professionals to access care and health records for more personalized care.”

“Working together, Cerner and Oracle have the ability to transform healthcare delivery by providing medical professionals with better information, enabling them to make better treatment decisions that translate into better patient outcomes,” in the words of Larry Ellison, president and chief technology officer, Oracle.

With this acquisition, it is presumable to believe that Oracle seeks not only to break that alliance, but to promote Oracle’s cloud as the default deployment option for Cerner’s new systems and the best modernization alternative for its existing customers. If this mass migration were to occur, the Cerner purchase would pay for itself at an insulting speed for its rivals.
Moreover, the genius operation itself could collapse and fail to deliver the expected results. EPIC, Cerner’s big rival, already has significant hyperscale alliances with the likes of AWS. Its position is, on paper, much stronger than Oracle’s: it would be joining the respective leaders in their markets, compared to Cerner’s second place and Oracle’s fifth place among cloud providers (not counting the Asian giants in the equation). In addition, everything depends on the migration of these health records to the cloud, something that may not happen with the speed or intensity that Ellison and his team expect.Follow the topics that interest you

Health qualifications are acquired in Epic in the “Episode” function. – An “Episode” must be created when the patient initially appears. – Episodes will be active until the next health assessment. expired-at that time, the episode must be resolved and a new one created.
There are three new tools that will be available in the event of downtime (see graphic): ▪ Read-only downtime ▪ Web downtime ▪ Downtime Device draft procedures are being developed that illustrate examples of how these tools can be used. These will be released in May.
It is always a relief to know that I will have EPIC, as it is the simplest computer system I have ever used. Quick and easy to use graphs that require very little effort. Lab results with normal values are fantastic. Orders can be difficult to read or find what you expect in the right place.
Key differences between Cerner and Epic Both vendors offer cloud-based software solutions for acute care and ambulatory care, although Cerner is the much more popular choice for ambulatory and clinical care. When it comes to larger healthcare organizations, most healthcare professionals choose Epic.
