Electoral accessibility for people with disabilities

The Arica Region has the highest percentage of people with disabilities in Chile, with an average of 28.9% prevalence in people of working age. It is in this context that TPA, together with the Impulso Foundation, have sought to generate participation in the workplace, and thus include and represent a large part of the population in the company.

Thus, in the line of building a space that integrates and represents the different people of society, employees and 3 interns with disabilities have been hired in the operational areas of TPA.

In view of this, training was provided to its collaborators in order to achieve effective labor inclusion and generate an environment in which everyone can work together, celebrating differences. At the same time, the Foundation is responsible for preparing the new employees with equipment and multidisciplinary courses so that they can adapt to the port in the best way possible.

The director of Fundación Impulso, Julio Leiva, explained that disability is often related to poverty, since, in view of the lack of opportunities to work, they do not have greater possibilities to continue to emerge: “TPA values diversity and what integration generates in its work teams, since it motivates the rest of the collaborators, as they are an example of effort and perseverance”.

The aim of the study was to determine the degree of functional disability with the modified Rankin scale at hospital discharge in patients with acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease, who received Alteplase and oral anti-aggregation, at Hospital Vozandes Quito and Hospital IESS Riobamba in the period 2011-2015.
